Drawers with Dovetails

“Incredibly strong and beautiful to look at, the dovetail joint probably pre-dates written history. Found to be used in furniture entombed with mummies dating from First Dynasty of ancient Egypt, as well the tombs of Chinese emperors.” Well…. if it’s good enough for those guys it is certainly good enough for our clients.

We use dovetail joints in all the solid oak drawer boxes we put in our kitchens. Granted the pins and tails are no longer cut by hand as they would have been back in ancient Egypt, but they are still created with the greatest of care and attention by our craftsmen. Once glued they form one of the strongest woodworking joints and are almost impossible to pull apart by hand.
